Outcaster Bass Anglers

About us

We are a new bass club based in Houma, Louisiana.  We will fish based on a team format (you pick your partner).  Club membership is $50 per year per member.  You and your dedicated partner will fish the third Saturday of every month  for points.  After our last tournament of the year, the point champions (Anglers of the Year), will be paid out with these membership fees. We do not fish the month of March due to other large events. We will have a two day "classic" in December of each year. 

Tournaments

As stated above, we will fish monthly tournaments to earn points as a team. The club will calculate a total of everyone's points for the year.  We will drop everyones two lowest scores to make this total. We are dropping 2 scores from everyone, this means any member can miss 2 tournaments per year and still fish for the championship. However no make up tournaments will be awarded to any member for any reason. The team with the highest remaining total at the end of the season will be awarded Anglers of the Year.  Every member must fish with their original partner (beginning of season) to be eligible to earn points.  Points will be issued on a point scale based on what place you finished for that tournament day for everyone that weighs in one or more legal fish.  If you fail to weigh in one legal fish, you and your partner will recieve a Zero for that tournament day.  Entry fees for every monthly tournament will be $60 per boat.  If you choose to forfeit your team's points and fish with a different member of the club, you are still eligible for the tournament earnings. 

Rules

• All boats must have a permanent livewell installed by the manufacturer
• All tournaments will require a 5   fish limit with only one dead fish allowed (1/2 lb penalty )
• All fish must be a minimum of 12" in length to be weighed(unless otherwise stated by state laws)
• All participants must be a member of the club to participate in any events held by the club
• All anglers must wear a Coast Guard approved life jacket while the outboard is in operation
• No one is allowed to fish within 50' of another tournament boat without the consent of that competitor
• No one is to fish in any gated canals, private canals, private ponds, private leases, marsh lands, or anywhere else that other members of the club can not access
• All fish must be caught using a traditional rod and reel with only artificial lures
• No trolling of lures will be permitted
• There may only be one line per angler being used at all times
• All livewells will be checked prior to launching boats
• Any member caught violating any of the above rules may be ejected from the club and all events held by the club
• All fish weighed for any event must be released, unless to be mounted for a trophy 
• DECISIONS BY THE CLUB DIRECTORS WILL BE FINAL

Point Scale

As mentioned earlier, we will be fishing for points to determine the Angler of the Year team.  You will recieve points in each tournament as long as you fish with the partner you signed up with in the beginning of the season, and you weigh in at least one legal fish per tournament.  The points will be awarded as follows. In finishing order:

1. 100 points
2. 97
3. 95
4. 93
5. 91
6. 89
7. 87
8. 85
9. 83
10. 81   and so on in 2 point increments

Also there will be a 2 point bonus for the lunker of each monthly tournament.
